On December 6th and 7th, FIU proudly hosts two high-level government delegates from the Indian state of Karnataka, Mr. Y. B. Ramakrishna and Mr. Monnappa, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Karnataka State Biofuel Development Board.
The Biofuel Board is a government agency that promotes all aspects of the biofuel sector within the state. Mr. Ramakrishna is its chief architect. He played a major role in the designing and passing of India's Renewable Energy Act. He is an engineer and a farmer, and hosted nine FIU students on his tropical fruit farm, last year. He also helped establish a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between FIU and the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) in Bangalore, India.
Global Energy director, Dr. Edward Glab, met with the delegates on Tuesday December 6th to discuss the future of the biofuel sector.
